2024 Master Class Workshop
SOLT proudly announces the 2024 Opera Workshop, a unique educational program whose main goal is to recreate the professional interpretative process with a special focus on the lyric theatre. Such issues as character development, the creative impulse, acting techniques and stage movement are examined and in some cases, considered for the first time.
The Opera Workshop begins on June 9 and will conclude on August 4, 2024. During the course of this eight-week period all participating artists will be involved in dramatic discussions, music and staging rehearsals and a series of Master Classes touching on important aspects of a singer's career. These eight weeks of intensive work culminate in a series of performances showcasing not only the artists' talent but also their work in appealing repertoire.
The Summer Opera Lyric Theatre 2024 Opera Workshop offers you an opportunity to spend the summer days in an stimulating environment that is both challenging and rewarding. Many past SOLT alumni have benefited from the Opera Workshop through a 'fine- tuning' of technical and interpretative skills and an expansion of repertoire in a career that demands great versatility. SOLT has produced the Opera Workshop since 1986 and for thirty-eight years has nurtured, developed and promoted the careers of hundreds of Canadian singers. Previous participating artists such as David Pomeroy, Krisztina Szabo, Etienne Dupuis, Katherine Whyte, Joseph Kaiser, Nora Sourouzian, Marc Boucher, Keith Klassen, Jennifer Maines, Joshua Hopkins, Michele Bogdanowicz, Michael Nyby and Michael Barrett are at present enjoying national and international careers.
Please take a look at the SOLT information for the summer of 2024 and make an appointment for an audition at your earliest convenience. Do not hesitate to call should you need further information on the program's objectives, fees, schedules, our roster of lecturers and Master Classes.
